GOT LEGS AND KNOWS HOW TO USE ‘EM
Leg Details
- On the maps, you'll see a bunch of skinny blue lines; these are cross-trails, also known as: places to get off-course. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE COURSE MARKINGS AND SIGNAGE, you'll enjoy the run more if you follow the course...
- The course is segmented into "legs." Each leg starts and ends at the Aid Station.
- The Aid Station is exactly half way; wave at the finish line as you HEAD OUT AGAIN.
-
The knowledge gained from experience of your first loop will be excellent:
The nice part about a two loop course is the application of the knowledge gained when repeating the course. To quote Albert Einstein, "The only source of knowledge is experience". Maybe more pertinent to the terrain is a quote from Rita Mae Brown, "Good decisions come from experience, and experience comes from bad decisions." In any event, you will be at peace with yourself at the finish. Or maybe paraphrasing Robin Williams: "And you have to do it 2 Fookin' Times!"
10K is marked with WHITE flags & ribbons throughout.
The Plunge - 3.1 miles - WHITE
Mike’s Barn Loop | +500/-500 |
Stampede down the road and prairie run before the first ascension to get the heart pumping. The plunge has something for everyone, minimalist trail, ridge running, scenic vistas, skid turns, and moderate descents. Perhaps your preference is for uphill climbing and shin shaking plunges. Well, you will not be disappointed. Or if you define plunge as an entrance method into a cold water. Yes, that too is provided. "Hell, I’m tired just trying to describing it.” “Do what you love, know your own bone, gnaw at it. Bury it, unearth it, and gnaw it still.” Henry David Thoreau. |
Fookin' 2 times! - 3.1 miles - WHITE
Mike’s Barn Loop (again) | +500/-500 |
Pop out of the field and see the aid station just across the road. Grab some refreshment and DO THE LOOP AGAIN! Don't do it 3 times, just 2... "Hell, I’m tired just trying to describing it.” “Do what you love, know your own bone, gnaw at it. Bury it, unearth it, and gnaw it still.” Henry David Thoreau. |
